Tanarra Philanthropic Advisors
Tanarra Philanthropic Advisors is a national probono advisory service helping progressive charities and social purpose organisations achieve maximum potential for the sector they serve. It was founded by investment banker and philanthropist John Wylie AM in response to a gap in NFP access to high level business and strategic advice, the kind usually only available to the corporate sector. The organisation is known for posing the tough questions then delivering practical, actionable and impartial advice to improve effectiveness.
Tanarra Philanthropic Advisors is supporting the Pink Elephants Support Network for a number of reasons. Firstly the cause of early pregnancy loss resonates with us and the organisation fills a distinct space as Australia’s only national charity solely dedicated to supporting those impacted by miscarriage. Secondly the leadership and board impressed us and continues to demonstrate their strengths by rolling up their sleeves and doing the hard yards. Finally, our skill-set and their needs are a good match. We can see that our work could have a lasting impact without ongoing dependency.
The Leave for Loss Campaign – introduction of legislated bereavement leave (2 days) to support women who suffer miscarriage and their partners, is one simple but important way employers can recognise the trauma, stress and grief experienced at the loss of a baby.
