What is Miscarriage?

Sadly, miscarriages are a common occurrence, with up to one in five pregnancies ending before week 20. This is little consolation when you have lost your much-wanted baby, and you will likely be feeling quite heartbroken as you come to terms with your loss.

There are several different types of miscarriages. Depending on your symptoms and the stage of your pregnancy, your doctor will diagnose one of the following:
